The National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism is a significant institution founded in 1995 to acknowledge Austria's responsibility towards the victims of National Socialism. The Fund provides financial support to those affected, particularly those who have received little or no prior compensation. It aims to assist individuals in need and offer more significant relief for their specific circumstances.

In addition to its core mission, the National Fund manages various initiatives, including project funding, documenting life stories, and recognizing victims through exhibitions and publications, like the Lives Remembered book series. The organization also oversees the Jewish Cemeteries Fund, ensuring the preservation of cultural heritage sites. By providing vital financial assistance and fostering public awareness through educational resources and events, the National Fund continues to play a crucial role in memorializing victims and promoting social responsibility in Austria.
