National Forest Taekwon-do is a family-run martial arts club based in the National Forest, offering welcoming classes for beginners and experienced practitioners. The club teaches Chang Hon-style Taekwon-do, alongside kickboxing and classes for young children under its Knee High Ninjas programme. Training covers a broad range of skills, including sparring, fitness, breaking and practical self-defence.
The club welcomes people of all backgrounds, abilities and grades, with members ranging from age four to 74 and from white belts to black belts. Whether participants want to try a new sport, improve fitness, lose weight or learn basic self-defence, classes provide an opportunity to develop skills in a friendly environment. A free trial class is available.
Sessions take place in Swadlincote, Measham and Netherseal, with separate junior, family and adult classes, as well as a high-grades session. Instruction is led by Master Mark Shields, a fifth dan senior instructor, supported by a team of instructors and assistant instructors. National Forest Taekwon-do also offers Taekwon-do and kickboxing instruction through its experienced teaching team.
