About National Moth Week
National Moth Week is a global celebration of the beauty, life cycles, and habitats of moths. With its 13th annual event taking place from July 20-28, 2024, this initiative encourages Moth-ers of all ages and abilities to learn about, observe, and document moths in their backyards, parks, and neighborhoods. By participating in National Moth Week, individuals become Citizen Scientists, contributing valuable scientific data about moths.
Through partnerships with major online biological data depositories, participants help map moth distribution and provide crucial information on various life history aspects worldwide. Whether you're simply leaving a porch light on to attract moths or using specialized lights and baits, there are endless ways to find and observe these incredible creatures.
