Nationalparkstelvio

Stelvio National Park is a protected natural area in South Tyrol, extending across parts of Trentino and Lombardy and bordering protected areas in Switzerland and the Parco dell’Adamello. Covering more than 1,307 square kilometres, including over 530 square kilometres in South Tyrol, it spans landscapes from forested valleys at around 600 metres to high mountain terrain approaching 3,900 metres. Its diverse habitats support native plants and wildlife, while the park’s work encompasses nature conservation, scientific research, sustainability and environmental education.

The park welcomes visitors free of charge and offers information through its visitor centres, including Aquaprad, Avimundus, Culturamartell, Lahnersäge and Naturatrafoi. Experiences include guided nature activities, hiking tours, wildlife observation, themed trails and educational programmes for schools and groups. Visitors can also find guidance on cycling, mountain biking, winter sports, refuges and local transport. The park connects people with regional culture and sustainable living through information on ecological farms, local products, cuisine, events and accommodation in the surrounding municipalities. It also provides resources on responsible behaviour in this protected landscape.
