National Stiltwalkers of Canada (NSC) is an Edmonton-based organization that brings people together through stiltwalking, performance, and learning. Its story began in 2001, when creator Randall Fraser trained and equipped a 50-person stiltwalking team for the opening and closing ceremonies of the IAAF World Games in Edmonton. Since then, NSC has grown into a community of stiltwalkers from varied backgrounds, ages, and interests.
The organization operates Stilthalla, its studio space, which supports performances, recordings, and opportunities to learn stiltwalking. NSC offers stiltwalker bookings for events, including corporate gatherings and school programs, as well as drop-ins and Step-Up workshops. Its packages are designed for individuals, families, and teams interested in learning the skill. The organization also hosts the Canadian National Stiltwalking Symposium, bringing together attendees and presenters, and offers merchandise and sponsorship opportunities. Through performances, training, and community events, National Stiltwalkers of Canada helps make stiltwalking accessible and adds a distinctive visual element to celebrations and gatherings.
