Nation's Giant Hamburgers

Nation’s Giant Hamburgers, also known as Nation’s Burgers & Great Pies, is a restaurant brand with roots in Oakland, California. Its story began with founder Russ’s search for a hamburger made just the way he liked it, with thick onion slices, tomatoes, and lettuce. In 1970, Dale purchased an unnamed Oakland restaurant and proposed building a small chain with Russ. They named it Nation’s, and Oakland became the first location to display the Nation’s Giant Hamburgers sign.

Today, the brand highlights giant burgers, great pies, and grand breakfasts, with online ordering available for customers. It also offers catering and provides tools to find nearby Nation’s locations and access its mobile app. The company’s website shares its history and offers information about careers, franchising, fundraising, nutrition, and health and safety. In 2015, Grant Power became president of Nation’s Foodservice Inc., while Dale Power moved into the role of chairman of the board. Nation’s combines a long-running restaurant heritage with convenient ways for customers to explore its menu and services.
