About Native Plant Trust
Native Plant Trust works throughout New England and the greater Northeast to conserve native plants, support ecological restoration, and help people understand the value and use of regional flora. Its work spans science and research, rare-plant protection, habitat preservation, ecological horticulture, and education. The organization collects and banks seeds of rare plants, and supplies plants, seeds, and expertise for restoration projects, including regionally adapted materials. It also promotes native-plant gardening as a way to strengthen ecosystem health and biodiversity.
Native Plant Trust offers classes, certificate programs, workshops, publications, practical guides, and online plant resources for beginners, gardeners, volunteers, and professionals. Its plant finder and Go Botany resources help people explore native species, while expert engagement and professional development support deeper learning. Visitors can experience native plants at Garden in the Woods in Framingham, Nasami Farm in Whately, and six sanctuaries across New England. Garden shops offer native perennials, shrubs, trees, and vines for gardens and restoration. Membership, volunteering, events, and donations provide additional ways to participate in its conservation mission.
