About Native Times
Native Times is a prominent brand that provides news and updates from the crossroads of Indian Country. Originally known as the Oklahoma Indian Times, the brand was established in 1994 by Jim Gray (Osage) and Elizabeth Gaines (Cherokee) as a bi-weekly newspaper circulated throughout Oklahoma. Over time, it evolved into a weekly publication and in 2006, the name was changed to Native American Times by Gaines.
Later, in 2008, the brand was acquired by Lisa Hicks Snell (Cherokee), who relocated its headquarters to Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Under Snell's leadership, the Native American Times became the largest and most widely circulated weekly in Oklahoma within just two years. Although the print edition ceased in 2014 due to economic challenges, you can still find the Native Times on popular social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, keeping you informed and engaged with the latest news, culture, entertainment, art, and sports from Indian Country
