About Capitals Coalition
SELINA, which stands for Science for Evidence-based and Sustainable Decisions about Natural Capital, is a transformative 5-year EU-funded project that aims to guide evidence-based decision-making for the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of the environment. Through collaboration with experts from 50 partner organizations across Europe, SELINA is setting new standards for international cooperation to promote ecosystem services and biodiversity conservation. This project, led by Capitals Coalition, focuses on developing real-world examples for integrated biodiversity and ecosystem services-based decision-making in sectors such as tourism, finance, and agriculture.
With a focus on private sector stakeholders, SELINA provides tools, models, and guidance to facilitate harmonized decision-making that supports essential ecosystem services. By bridging the gap between science and business, SELINA is paving the way for transformative change to achieve the ambitious goals of the European Biodiversity Strategy 2030 and the European Green Deal
