Nature Awareness is a Namibian conservation education initiative working to reconnect people with the natural world. Through its Nature Awareness Project, the organization addresses limited understanding of nature, particularly among young people, alongside the challenges climate change poses to future conservation. It uses social media to share information and educational content, helping reach Namibians whose connection with conservation may have been reduced by urbanization.

The project also takes schoolchildren on educational outings in nature, where they learn about respect, ethics, sustainability, discipline, and awareness of Namibia’s constitutional commitment to the sustainable use of natural resources. Its educational approach highlights the benefits of sustainable use for Namibian people and introduces hunting as a potential conservation tool. The initiative aims to equip children as future leaders with knowledge and appreciation that can support conservation over time. Nature Awareness invites donations to help educate additional children about nature. Presented under the Camelthorn Project name and the message “Taking Us Back To Nature,” it offers a combination of outdoor learning, educational resources, and public outreach focused on conservation awareness.
