Nature Network

Eco Adventurers, formerly known as Nature Network, provides environmental living and learning experiences for children in Cape Town. Its programmes help children of all communities build a healthy relationship with nature and understand their place in the web of life. The primary school programme brings hands-on, nature-based learning to school grounds, using stories, games, role-play, observation and activities such as planting water-wise plants, exploring insects and making items from recycled plastic. Lessons encourage children to notice the natural life around them and connect discovery with everyday learning.

During school holidays, Nature Adventurers offers one- or two-morning programmes at local natural settings, including Kirstenbosch Gardens. Children explore through guided activities, storytelling, games and factual learning. Eco Adventurers also runs an upliftment theatre programme, providing performing artists with opportunities to develop storytelling and puppetry. Its interactive shows, presented in Afrikaans, isiXhosa and English, address themes such as recycling, water awareness, nature and Cape Town’s cultural diversity.
