TNC Nature Lab

Nature Lab is The Nature Conservancy’s youth curriculum platform, created to help young people understand how nature supports life and how people can protect it. Drawing on the organization’s conservation expertise and more than 1,000 scientists, Nature Lab offers customizable, interactive educational resources for teachers, students and families. Its materials include lesson plans, classroom teaching guides, family activity guides, seasonal guides, videos and virtual field trips, with resources for learners from early childhood through age 18.

Topics connect science to real-world conservation, including ecosystems, wildlife migration, oceans, gardening, pollinators and the role of insects in growing food. Learners can explore the cloud forest and the resplendent quetzal, investigate wildlife corridors, or discover how bugs contribute to healthy soil and food systems. Designed for classroom use as well as family learning, the resources encourage hands-on exploration and practical ways to engage with nature. Nature Lab has received an Anthem Award and a Telly Award for its videos and teaching tools. A monthly newsletter shares new free environmental education materials.
