Naturschutzstiftung FWW

The Nature Conservation Foundation Friesland-Wittmund-Wilhelmshaven is a regional foundation dedicated to protecting and developing characteristic habitats and the wildlife and plant species they support. Established in 2006 as a private-law foundation, it brings together the districts of Friesland and Wittmund, the independent city of Wilhelmshaven, and Friesisches Brauhaus zu Jever as its founding partners. Its work reflects a commitment to cooperation across municipal and district boundaries for the benefit of nature and people.

The foundation develops and carries out its own biodiversity projects, while also supporting and funding projects run by other organizations. Its activities cover a range of local environments and conservation themes, including wetlands, forests, waterways, agricultural landscapes, gardens, and urban biodiversity. It also acquires and manages land for conservation, provides land management services, and offers project funding and support for wildflower meadows. Through the Ecological Station Jade, it contributes to the care and monitoring of protected areas. The foundation shares news, events, project information, and guidance to help the regional community engage with conservation.
