Natuurlijk te Paard

Natuur(lijk) te Paard is a horse instruction and behaviour service based in Oost Groningen, run by Ellen Hinrichs. Its approach helps owners understand their horses, build trust and address challenging behaviour, with the horse’s welfare at the forefront. Training is tailored to each partnership and is suitable for horses of all types and ages, and owners of all ages. Sessions are available by appointment throughout the year, with a riding helmet required.

Services include groundwork, liberty work and long-line training, offering an alternative to regular training while developing communication, strength and confidence. Obstacle training helps owners and horses explore unfamiliar or worrying situations, with one-to-one or small-group sessions and practical explanations of equine behaviour. Trailer-loading support takes a calm, step-by-step approach that respects a horse’s fear and rewards progress. Ellen also offers riding lessons for children and beginners on their own horse or pony, and is a qualified ORUN instructor. Training generally uses a work halter and lines, with methods adapted through discussion to suit each horse and owner.
