About Nautical institute Hong Kong
The Nautical Institute Hong Kong Branch is an organization dedicated to serving the maritime industry in the region. With a history dating back to 1984, the branch has witnessed significant growth alongside the maritime industry it represents. Over the past three and a half decades, the Merchant Fleet has expanded from under 700 million DWT to nearly 2 billion DWT, accompanied by transformative changes in ship size and crew requirements.
The Nautical Institute plays a crucial role in assisting seafarers and marine professionals in operating their ships efficiently while complying with regulations. As an NGO with consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the institute represents industry voices in decision-making processes. Their publications, written by industry professionals, offer operational guidance and best practices.
The Hong Kong Branch aims to provide personalized services to the local maritime community. Membership offers access to networking opportunities, technical and social gatherings, seminars, and professional development courses. The branch actively seeks the involvement of maritime professionals to support local initiatives and contribute to the growth and development of the branch. With the support of the Hong Kong Maritime Industry, the Nautical Institute Hong Kong Branch continues to expand and strives to meet the requirements and aspirations of the local and regional maritime community.
