About NBA Foundation
The NBA Foundation is a nonprofit organization focused on expanding economic opportunity for young people ages 14 to 24 in NBA communities across the United States and Canada. It invests in programs, partnerships, and grants that help under-resourced youth move from school to careers through job readiness, skills training, job placement, and career advancement. The Foundation works with more than 300 nonprofit partners addressing education, income, and employment disparities in local communities.
Their programs offer young people access to skills development, mentorship, professional coaching, and career pathways across fields including arts, criminal justice, healthcare, music, STEM, and sports. The Foundation reports that its partners and signature programs have served one million youth and that it has awarded $165 million in grants to organizations supporting young people. Its signature initiatives include the HBCU Fellowship, All-Star Pitch Competition, and Tech Challenge.
The HBCU Fellowship provides career development opportunities in the business of basketball for undergraduate and graduate students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities
