National Bird Hunters Association

The National Bird Hunters Association (NBHA) is an organization for bird hunters dedicated to developing and competing with class foot-handled bird dogs. It promotes fair competition, sportsmanship, outdoor enjoyment, and fellowship among people who share an interest in field trialing bird dogs. Through a network of clubs, regional groups, and state directors, the NBHA supports events and activities across its community.

The association organizes and reports on club trials, regional championships, and national competitions, including amateur, open, invitational, and free-for-all championships. Its website provides upcoming event schedules, archived trial results, dog and handler point standings, records, and a Hall of Fame. Members and clubs can access applications, printable forms, rules, and by-laws. The NBHA also runs a Futurity program, with information on standards, nominated litters, staff, news, schedules, and sponsors. Additional resources include dog-search tools, photo galleries, and updates on awards and association meetings. National and other sponsors support the organization’s activities, while its news coverage shares trial results and community announcements.
