About NBI
The National Business Initiative (NBI) is a pivotal coalition launched in 1995 by former President Nelson Mandela, comprised of nearly 100 South African and multinational companies. NBI promotes a sustainable and equitable vision for South Africa, fostering a resilient economy that prioritizes social transformation and environmental sustainability. The initiative empowers its members through strategic projects targeting economic inclusion, youth employability, and environmental stewardship.
The NBI's flagship programs include the Just Energy Transition, Skilling for Employment (JET SEP), and initiatives focused on promoting trust and accountability among businesses. Members are supported in navigating challenges related to climate change, fostering green finance, and driving innovation within various sectors, while also tackling gender equity and corruption through dedicated strategies.
By building capacity for change, the NBI aims to enhance the investment potential within the economy, making South Africa an attractive place for business and communities alike. Join NBI to be part of a dynamic movement dedicated to shaping a thriving future for all.
