About Australia National Capital
The National Capital Authority (NCA) is an Australian Government statutory authority established under the Australian Capital Territory (Planning and Land Management) Act 1988, serving as the trustee of Australia's National Capital — Canberra. Succeeding the National Capital Development Commission in 1989 following the ACT's achievement of self-government, the NCA's mission is to shape Canberra as a capital that all Australians can be proud of by ensuring it is well planned, managed, and promoted, consistent with its enduring national significance. The NCA is responsible for preparing and administering the National Capital Plan, managing and enhancing nationally significant places including Anzac Parade, Lake Burley Griffin, and the Parliamentary Triangle, operating the National Capital Exhibition, delivering education and guided tour programmes, and fostering awareness of Canberra among all Australians.
Headquartered at the Treasury Building on King Edward Terrace, Parkes, Canberra, the NCA represents the Commonwealth's interest in ensuring Australia's capital continues to reflect the nation's heritage, values, and aspirations for generations to come
