About NCBP Duncombe
The National Centre for Birds of Prey is an award-winning visitor attraction at Duncombe Park in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, within the North York Moors National Park. Formerly known as the International Centre for Birds of Prey, it offers visitors the chance to discover one of northern England’s largest collections of birds of prey, from burrowing owls to Steller’s sea eagles. Many birds feature in spectacular flying demonstrations, while others are part of breeding projects.
The centre also offers experiences including raptor and owl encounters, hawk hikes, winter owl evenings, photography days and a veterinary health course, alongside school and group visits. Visitors can explore aviaries, learn about the birds and enjoy activities for children. Admission includes access to the surrounding woodland and parkland, with opportunities to walk around the 300-acre estate.
The Owl House Cafe serves freshly prepared meals, snacks, drinks and home-baked cakes, using locally sourced Yorkshire produce where possible. Open seasonally, the centre welcomes visitors seven days a week and provides full disabled access throughout the site
