About National Capital Commission
The National Capital Commission (NCC) is a federal Crown corporation established in 1959, dedicated to making Canada’s Capital a dynamic and inspiring hub for all Canadians. As the principal steward of nationally significant public spaces, the NCC manages notable locations such as Gatineau Park, the Greenbelt, and the Rideau Canal Skateway. The organization also oversees urban parks, pathways, monuments, and the nation's six official residences.
In its role as the main urban planner for the Capital Region, the NCC collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance the area's natural and cultural heritage while ensuring sustainable development and conservation.
