The North Carolina Child Treatment Program (NC CTP) is a dedicated nonprofit organization aimed at enhancing the health and wellbeing of infants, children, adolescents, and families facing attachment difficulties, trauma, and behavioral-emotional challenges. Founded in 2006 by physicians specializing in child health and trauma, NC CTP initially focused on providing treatment for children who experienced sexual abuse, but has since expanded to address a variety of childhood traumas through evidence-based therapy methods.
Each year, NC CTP trains around 250 mental health providers in several evidence-based treatment models, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS). These trained providers deliver vital services across diverse settings, including schools, homes, and mental health clinics throughout North Carolina.
Through collaboration with various organizations and a robust performance tracking platform, NC CTP strives to ensure effective treatment delivery, ultimately helping children and families achieve better mental health outcomes.
