About NCCR Robotics
NCCR Robotics is a Swiss brand that focuses on developing new, human-oriented robotic technology to enhance our quality of life. As a Swiss nationwide organization funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, NCCR Robotics brought together top researchers from various research institutions across the country. With a mission to create symbiotic relationships between robots and humans, NCCR Robotics conducted research in three main areas.
Firstly, they explored wearable robots that work in harmony with our bodies by understanding the human nervous system. This research led to advancements in prosthetics and rehabilitation robots. Secondly, NCCR Robotics developed portable and safe rescue robots for disaster areas and everyday life.
These robots are capable of multiple types of locomotion, such as walking, flying, grasping, and swimming. Lastly, NCCR Robotics focused on education by designing affordable and modular robots with sensors and actuators. These educational robots provide effective teaching tools for schools and universities.
Beyond their research, NCCR Robotics was involved in education and training, knowledge and technology transfer, as well as the advancement of women in the field of robotics
