About Northern California Grantmakers
Northern California Grantmakers is a transformative philanthropy organization that mobilizes resources, capital, and power to create healthy, thriving, and just communities in Northern California. Although not a traditional grantmaker, their membership base consists of dynamic funders who are driving positive change in philanthropy as a whole. Comprised of a diverse community including program officers, board members, individual donors, and advocates, Northern California Grantmakers believes in the collective power of individuals coming together for the greater good.
Founded in the 1960s as the Lunch Bunch, they have since evolved into Northern California Grantmakers, currently boasting over 220 institutional members and 4,000 individual members. Their mission is to redistribute resources and bring transformative change to historically marginalized communities through philanthropy. Central to their work is a commitment to racial equity, both internally and externally, which they have embraced through extensive member and stakeholder engagement.
With their dedicated CEO Dwayne S. Marsh, Northern California Grantmakers continues to prioritize equity and social justice in their efforts to positively impact the field of philanthropy
