About NCPR
The National Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products (NCPRMP) in Bulgaria is a government entity committed to overseeing the pricing and reimbursement processes of medicinal products. Established under the Law on Medicinal Products in Human Medicine, the Council operates as a collegial body, consisting of a multidisciplinary team of experts including medical doctors, pharmacists, lawyers, and economists.
Based in Sofia, the NCPRMP is responsible for approving and monitoring the prices of medicinal products, particularly those listed in the Positive Drug List (PDL). The Council maintains comprehensive public registers detailing the prices of reimbursable medicines, ceiling prices for prescription drugs, and maximum sales prices for non-prescription medicines. In addition to its regulatory role, the Council also develops pharmacotherapeutic guidelines and recommendations to ensure effective treatment algorithms.
Through its various administrative services and transparent operations, the NCPRMP strives to promote public health and facilitate access to necessary medications for citizens and healthcare providers alike.
