The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) is a constitutional body of the Government of India, established to safeguard Scheduled Castes and Anglo-Indian communities from exploitation and to promote and protect their social, educational, economic and cultural interests. Its work includes reviewing safeguards, conducting hearings and spot visits, assessing issues through state and public-sector reviews, and publishing annual and special reports. The Commission also provides a channel for citizens to register complaints through its e-Grievance Management Portal, where users can submit complaints and track their status, as well as a toll-free helpline for support and grievances.
The NCSC shares information on constitutional safeguards, relevant laws and rules, government welfare schemes, publications, events and vacancies. Its website offers resources on scholarships, education, entrepreneurship and other initiatives intended to benefit Scheduled Caste communities. Headquartered at Lok Nayak Bhawan in New Delhi, the Commission also operates state offices across India.
Through public engagement, reviews and grievance services, the NCSC works to advance protections and address concerns affecting the communities within its mandate
