About Ncufoundation
The National Credit Union Foundation, also known as NCUF, is the charitable arm of the U. S. Their mission is to serve as a catalyst for improving people's financial lives through credit unions.
They achieve this through three pillars of work: Ignite, Inspire, and Respond. Under the Ignite pillar, NCUF organizes events, conferences, and speaking engagements to align the credit union movement around their collective mission. They also offer grants to address pain points, growth opportunities, and strategic risks facing credit unions, with the aim of supporting the broader system.
The Inspire pillar focuses on transformative education and the annual Foundation Dinner, which inspire credit unions to leverage cooperative principles and improve financial well-being for all. NCUF offers workshops to help credit unions and system partners connect with the credit union difference and drive value for their members and organizations. They also sponsor Biz Kid$, an education platform designed to start the next generation on the path to financial freedom.
Under the Respond pillar, NCUF quickly responds to disasters through their CUAid disaster relief program, supporting credit union employees and volunteers during times of great need. The Foundation is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, considering them fundamental to a vibrant and growing credit union movement. They strive to practice cultural diversity in all aspects of their mission and work.
Inclusivity and financial freedom for all are at the heart of their vision. Originally established as the CUNA Foundation in 1980, NCUF has since awarded over $36 million in grants to help credit unions better serve their members. They remain closely aligned with the Credit Union National Association and are widely recognized as the national charitable arm of America's credit union movement.
By supporting the National Credit Union Foundation, you can help make financial freedom achievable through credit unions. Join them in their mission to empower individuals and communities to achieve greater financial well-being
