NDCFS

The Navajo Nation Division for Children and Family Services (NDCFS) is a Navajo Nation agency focused on supporting children, families, elders, and community well-being. Its services span child welfare, family support, adult care, long-term services, treatment, and financial assistance. Programs include foster and kinship care, adoption, the Navajo Indian Child Welfare Act Program, Healthy Families, adult in-home and group-home care, and protective services. NDCFS also offers developmental disability services, outpatient family counseling, and support through the Navajo Treatment Center for Children & Their Families.

The Division’s financial assistance resources include the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Community Services Block Grant, burial assistance, and school clothing and supplies support. It provides information for reporting suspected child abuse or neglect and promotes initiatives such as Operation Rainbow Bridge, which helps connect displaced Navajo tribal members with service providers or support returning home. Through its programs, resources, and public updates, NDCFS works to bring services to Navajo people and strengthen families across the Nation.
