The National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB) plays a crucial role in establishing a national standard for general dentists in Canada. By developing and administering examinations, NDEB ensures that individuals seeking registration as dentists meet this standard. Working closely with Canadian Faculties of Dentistry, the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada, and provincial Dental Regulatory Authorities, NDEB supports the delivery of quality dental care in the country.
The NDEB's mission is to contribute to the oral health of Canadians by conducting fair, valid, and reliable evaluations of dentists' competence for certification. With a structure involving a 12-member Board and seven standing committees, NDEB focuses on various key result areas for the future, including transitioning to electronic exam delivery, enhancing stakeholder communication, and managing risks effectively. This commitment to excellence underscores NDEB's dedication to ensuring high standards in dental practice in Canada.
