NDIA Picatinny

The Picatinny Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) is a nonprofit, educational organization supporting its members, Picatinny Arsenal, and other New Jersey-based defense institutions. NDIA represents industry, government, and the military services, providing a forum for people across the defense community, including academia, to connect, share information, and build knowledge, access, influence, and professional contacts.

The chapter’s activities center on strengthening America’s technological leadership in support of national defense. It offers membership options for individuals and organizations, and creates opportunities for networking and engagement in a positive, enriching environment. Its programs also recognize contributions to national defense through awards honoring outstanding service.

Education is another key focus. The chapter operates merit-based scholarship programs that provide financial assistance to students pursuing high-technology education. Its news and events include recurring Jim Shields Memorial Scholarship Program activities and events such as the Fire Power Awards Luncheon.

Founded as a separate chapter in 1962, the organization became part of NDIA when the national association adopted that name in 1998.
