Ndlovu Care Group

Ndlovu Care Group is a community development organisation working in rural communities in Limpopo, South Africa. Its journey began in 1994, when Liesje and Hugo Tempelman started building the Ndlovu Medical Centre in Elandsdoorn, an area with limited medical infrastructure. The organisation has since developed an integrated approach focused on creating hope and opportunities and helping communities become self-sustaining.

Its programmes support children and young people in their physical, mental, social and cultural development, alongside practical skills training that can help people access employment and build sustainable livelihoods. Ndlovu Care Group also works to improve access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene, and provides infrastructure support, including safer homes for child-headed households and construction or maintenance of organisational facilities. Its work includes research for sustainable community development.

The group also offers vocational training and supports the Ndlovu Youth Choir, which began as an after-school activity in 2009 and has grown into a professional ensemble. Through its programmes and partnerships, Ndlovu Care Group aims to strengthen children, youth, families and communities.
