Kichijoji Cat Festival is an annual community event that celebrates cats throughout the Kichijoji area of Japan. Organized by the Kichijoji Cat Festival Executive Committee, the event brings together local businesses, artists, and cat enthusiasts for a month of cat-themed activities, typically held in October. The 2026 festival is scheduled for October, with organizers inviting vendors, event participants, and sponsors to get involved.

Festival offerings span a range of local experiences, including participating cafés and restaurants, cat-themed menus and special promotions, art and craft goods, and pet products. A key feature is the Cat-Filled Market, where vendors gather to present cat-related creations and merchandise; recent editions have been held at Coppice Kichijoji’s Greening Square. The program can also include cultural events, such as screenings and talks connected with cat-themed films. Through its events and participating shops, the festival gives visitors ways to explore Kichijoji while enjoying its diverse cat-inspired food, art, shopping, and entertainment. Updates, participant information, and event inquiries are available through the official festival website.
