NEIFOA

The Northeastern Illinois Football Officials Association (NEIFOA) is an organization dedicated to developing knowledgeable, skilled, and ethical football officials in Illinois. Its mission is to continually evaluate and improve officiating standards through recruitment, education, and mentoring. NEIFOA helps members understand and apply the rules, mechanics, regulations, policies, and practices adopted by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

The association provides education and training through classroom instruction, film sessions, meetings with state-certified clinicians, and on-field scrimmages. These programs support officials at different stages of their development and encourage their advancement. NEIFOA also promotes high standards of ethics, sportsmanship, respect, and encouragement in interactions with players, coaches, fellow officials, and athletic directors. Its broader aim is to support fair play, cooperation, and positive relationships across the football community. The organization shares information about clinics, meetings, schools, rules, and other useful resources for officials. Its website also notes that Wilson is the official football used by the IHSA.
