The Nelson Trust

The Nelson Trust is a charity supporting people affected by substance use and multiple disadvantages across the South West of England and Wales. Its work addresses needs that may include domestic abuse, trauma and involvement in the justice system, with a trauma-informed, holistic approach focused on recovery and positive change. The Trust supports around 6,000 people each year through four residential rehabilitation houses in Stroud, three move-on recovery houses, ten women’s centres and three social enterprises known as Hubs.

Its services include recovery support for women and men, women’s community services, recovery housing, programmes and projects, and opportunities to develop skills through its Hub Academy and enterprises, including The Clean Plate and Common Ground Community Garden. The organisation aims to help people build confidence, gain lifelong skills and reconnect with their communities. Alongside direct support, the Nelson Trust offers ways for the public to contribute through donations, fundraising, volunteering, partnerships and education and training
