The Nemean Games Revival Society is dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of the ancient Nemean Games, a significant aspect of Greek athletic and cultural heritage. Founded as a result of extensive archaeological efforts by the University of California, Berkeley, the Society aims to revive the spirit of the Olympic tradition on the sacred grounds of Nemea. The organization invites modern participants of all backgrounds to engage in these historic athletic events, focusing on universal involvement rather than competitive accolades.

Their signature event, the Nemean Games, symbolizes a commitment to inclusivity and the promotion of peace through sport. Participants run in the same ancient stadium where athletes competed over two millennia ago, using only their bare feet – a true homage to the traditions of the past. The next iteration of the Games will take place from June 28 to June 30, 2024. Through educational initiatives, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement, the Society for the Revival of the Nemean Games fosters a deep appreciation for ancient Greek athletics and the timeless lessons of unity and peace they convey.
