Neollie is a medtech startup developing robotic technology to make neonatal and paediatric feeding safer and more efficient. Its modular system is designed to automate the preparation of human milk and formula-based feeds for patients in intensive care units and hospital wards. The company addresses the complexity of current manual processes, which require precise dosing of breast milk fortifier and can place a significant workload on nursing staff.

Neollie aims to improve feed-preparation accuracy, reduce repetitive nursing tasks, and support the efficiency of neonatal wards amid projected nurse shortages. Its first prototype, Neo, demonstrated preparation for a single neonatal patient by measuring and dispensing breast milk fortifier powder, mixing it into breast milk, and preparing, measuring, and heating prescribed feed doses. Neollie is using the experience gained with Neo to develop a market-grade solution. The company’s work has also been featured in coverage of its development from an academic project into a medtech startup and its participation in the NEOPERFECT consortium, which focuses on reducing nursing workload.
