Neonatal Touch and Massage Certification

Neonatal Touch & Massage Certification® (NTMC) is a specialized certification program from Creative Therapy Consultants for neonatal healthcare providers. It combines holistic, neonatal, and systems theory approaches to massage, with an emphasis on families, nurturing opportunities, and raising the standard of care in daily practice. The program aims to improve the lives of babies and families through touch and massage, and its vision is for NICU care to be intentionally comforting and neuroprotective.

NTMC training covers neonatal massage techniques to support sleep, comfort, and neurodevelopment, alongside observation skills and infant development. Participants learn practices such as skin-to-skin holding, swaddled bathing, two-person caregiving, and therapeutic positioning and handling. The curriculum also includes manual therapy techniques, including myofascial release and trigger point release, as well as awareness of craniosacral therapy benefits. NTMC offers certification and recertification, with information on training locations, dates, applications, fees, and credentials. Its website also provides free webinars, educational resources, a directory, and attendee feedback. Creative Therapy Consultants reports teaching at more than 50 hospitals.
