Neptune Mountaineering

Neptune Mountaineering is a Boulder, Colorado, outdoor retailer serving adventurers since 1977. The brand’s approach centers on understanding customers’ needs and using its outdoor expertise to help them choose quality equipment for their activities. Its broad selection supports climbing, mountaineering, camping, hiking, skiing, trail running, and travel. Products include climbing hardware, harnesses, helmets, shoes, ropes, and crash pads; tents, backpacks, sleeping bags, cookware, and water-treatment gear; and skis, boots, bindings, avalanche-safety equipment, clothing, and footwear. Neptune also carries guidebooks, maps, and outdoor accessories from established brands.

Beyond retail, Neptune offers rentals, a ski shop, and bootfitting, helping customers prepare for time in the mountains. Its website shares local beta on climbing areas, closures, trails, and hikes, along with articles, staff adventures, and practical outdoor know-how. The business also hosts events, operates the Neptune Cafe and Neptune Museum, and runs Second Send, where customers can sell and shop for used outdoor gear. Together, these offerings make Neptune a resource for both equipment and local outdoor knowledge.
