About Nevada County's History
The Nevada County Historical Society, located in Nevada City, CA, is dedicated to preserving the rich history of Nevada County and the Mother Lode. Established in 1944, the society was inspired by Dr. Robert E.
Burns and began with just 48 members. Today, it has grown into a thriving organization that offers a variety of programs and services. The society operates several museums, including the Firehouse No.
