Rivers Edge Jiu-Jitsu is a martial arts gym in Newaygo, Michigan, offering training for children and adults of all experience levels. Founded in 2023 by owner and head coach Josh Libolt, the gym combines high-level instruction with a supportive, family-oriented community. Its programs include Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, and kickboxing, with options for kids, adults, women, beginners, hobbyists, and competitors.
Classes are designed to help students develop practical self-defense skills, improve fitness, and build confidence and discipline. The kids’ programs emphasize respect, resilience, and life skills, while adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu welcomes both newcomers and experienced students. Women can join dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, and adult striking training for ages 13 and up covers fundamentals, conditioning, technique, pad work, and optional sparring. A homeschool class gives children daytime opportunities to train and socialize. Rivers Edge also offers private and small-group lessons tailored to individual or shared goals. Students can explore the gym through a two-week free trial.
