New Beginnings Midwifery

New Beginnings Midwifery is a private midwifery practice serving the Latrobe Valley and Gippsland region from its clinic in Churchill, Victoria. Led by Nikki, a midwife with more than 15 years of experience in public and private settings, the practice centres on personalised, continuous care from one familiar midwife. Its current services focus on antenatal and postnatal care rather than attending births.

Care is available from the first positive pregnancy test and includes pregnancy and birth education for families planning to give birth at home or in hospital. Appointments can last up to an hour, allowing time for questions and shared decision-making. Services also include acupressure, Acuneedling and moxibustion, breastfeeding education and support, and postnatal care for up to six weeks after birth. Clients may also access medication scripts, pathology and ultrasound referrals, Medicare rebates, TENS machine hire, and contact with obstetric doctors at Latrobe Regional Hospital. After-hours support and home visits may be possible.
