Newbie Nest is a privately owned early learning and kindergarten centre located on Schotters Road in Mernda, Victoria. Open Monday to Friday, the centre provides childcare, kindergarten and play-based learning in a family-centred, home-like environment. Its approach is guided by contemporary research, relevant legislation and the knowledge of its professional team, with a focus on children’s confidence, curiosity, wellbeing and development.

Newbie Nest describes itself as a child-safe organisation with a zero-tolerance policy toward child abuse. It also aims to create culturally safe, welcoming spaces and recognises the traditions and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The centre’s offerings include ongoing incursions and excursions, weekly healthy cooking activities in which children help prepare simple snacks, and programs tailored to children’s ages and levels. It promotes affordable fees while maintaining educator numbers and meal quality. Families can arrange a visit, explore the campus through a video tour, or contact the centre for enrolment and program information.
