New Frontiers is a science-fiction roleplaying community and virtual sim hosted in Second Life, set on the Belt world of Onia. The setting combines frontier adventure, political intrigue, and supernatural threats, giving players an evolving world in which to create stories and interact with one another. Its ongoing narrative features dangers in Dusklight’s undercity, including dinosaurs displaced from their time and serial killers moving through an unnatural mist, while tensions on the surface grow as the Holy See expands its militant outreach amid instability in the Federation. Farther into the frontier, explorers encounter ancient tombs and forgotten ruins.

New Frontiers supports roleplay with resources for both new and experienced participants. The site offers a new-player start guide, sim and rental rules, a dice combat manual, an item list, and a HUD user manual. Players can explore lore about the setting’s many races and factions, and connect through Discord. The community also shares media and a wiki, gathers feedback, and provides Patreon and supporter options.
