About New Jersey Stage
Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center, located at 1030 Central Ave in Plainfield, New Jersey, is a community theater in residence at the duCret Center of Art. They specialize in celebrating diversity through arts education, dramatic performances, and the creation of new works. One of their upcoming productions is India Pale Ale, a drama about a Punjabi Indian family living in Wisconsin.
Directed by Priya Iyer, this play explores the collision of cherished customs and modern-day desires within the community. Set in a quaint Wisconsin town, the story unfolds during the wedding celebrations of the family's sole son, as their determined daughter reveals her plans to open a bar and move away. Amidst the festivities filled with music and dancing, the cast navigates the influence of ancestors and pirates from their past, until an unforeseen tragedy changes everything.
Featuring a talented cast and creative team, Dragonfly Multicultural Arts Center presents India Pale Ale on September 15th, 16th, and 17th. Tickets can be purchased online or at the venue for $20. 00 for adults and $15.
