New Mexico Genealogy is a developing online resource for people researching ancestry, family history, and the past of New Mexico. It brings together information about records, archives, historical topics, and places to help visitors plan their research. Resources cover birth, death, and marriage records; census, tax, court, and military records; land records; newspapers; obituaries; directories; church and Bible records; cemeteries; and biographies. The site also offers guidance on county offices, archives and libraries, genealogical societies, and other research sources.

Historical content explores New Mexico’s people and communities, including African American settlements, Buffalo Soldiers, Native American tribes, and Franciscan missions in the Southwest. A collection of more than 40 historical maps made before 1900 supports research into the state’s geography and local history. Featured material includes records relating to troops stationed at Fort Selden from 1865 to 1891, organized into surname ranges. Visitors can search the site, browse resources by topic or county, and subscribe to receive notifications of new posts.
