New Morning Nursery School is a nonprofit, parent cooperative preschool serving families on Madison, Wisconsin’s near west side. Organized in 1972, the school offers half-day programs for children ages 2 to 6 in a safe, nurturing community of children, parents, and teachers. Its play-based, child-centered approach recognizes each child’s developmental needs and supports growth through every stage, from adjusting to separation and learning self-help skills to building friendships and exploring early literacy.

The curriculum fosters social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development, while encouraging problem-solving, independence, self-reliance, and respect for others. Experienced, caring teachers guide children’s learning through play and age-appropriate academic experiences. New Morning also offers a 4K program, with options including Lunch Bunch and 4K Plus; limited afternoon Madison Metropolitan School District 4K spaces are noted as available for the 2026–27 school year. The school is state licensed and accredited by the City of Madison. Families can explore enrollment information, school experiences, curriculum, and community events through the school, which emphasizes active parent involvement and a welcoming cooperative environment.
