About New Orleans Review
New Orleans Review, established in 1968, is a distinguished journal of contemporary literature and culture, published by the Department of English at Loyola University New Orleans. With a commitment to showcasing a diverse range of voices, NOR has featured the work of both celebrated and emerging writers including Walker Percy, Pablo Neruda, and Joyce Carol Oates. The journal publishes eclectic content encompassing poetry, essays, fiction, and art, all of which resonate with its rich literary heritage.
In addition to its biannual issues, New Orleans Review is dedicated to promoting literary discourse through various initiatives, including a column focused on Palestinian voices and a vibrant digital archive. Their first book, "Interviews from the Edge: 50 Years of Conversations about Writing and Resistance," released in 2019, highlights influential literary dialogues. With a strong editorial team, NOR continues to inspire creators and readers alike, earning accolades in notable anthologies such as the Pushcart Prize and Best American Nonrequired Reading.
