New Phase

New Phase is a biotechnology company developing a nanotechnology-based approach to treating metastatic solid tumors, with a focus on patients facing advanced cancer. Its SARAH Nanotechnology System combines SARAH nanoparticles (SaNP), made with multicore superparamagnetic iron oxide and a biocompatible polymer, with an electromagnetic induction system. The nanoparticles are delivered intravenously and are designed to accumulate preferentially in malignant tissue. An alternating magnetic field then heats them to about 50°C, aiming to destroy cancer cells while limiting harm to healthy tissue.

New Phase presents its technology as a precision hyperthermia treatment and is conducting clinical trials, including U.S. trials. The company reports that more than 20 patients have received treatment in early feasibility studies, which showed promising safety results; further research is needed to establish clinical benefits. Its work is supported by scientific publications and a portfolio of 13 granted patents worldwide.
