New Ross Boat Club is a community rowing club founded in 1876 on the banks of the River Barrow in New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland. Built on a long tradition of rowing, the club brings together members through sport, camaraderie and a shared connection to the river. It welcomes rowers aged 12 to 70, offering opportunities for juniors, seniors, masters and recreational participants, whether they are pursuing competition or rowing for leisure.
The Barrow provides more than 40 kilometres of wide, accessible waterways, with routes linking to the Nore and Suir, creating a scenic setting for training, extended outings and visiting crews. The club supports developing athletes and competitive rowing: in 2024, Anna Brennan won the club’s first National Championship title, while young rowers have also earned silverware at regattas across Ireland. New Ross Boat Club is planning improvements to its clubhouse, river access points and pontoon, aiming to strengthen its facilities for future generations.
It also welcomes enquiries about donations and membership
