NewtopiaVC is a Latin American venture capital firm that is dedicated to supporting and investing in early-stage startups. Our goal is to enhance the development of the region by backing exceptional Latin founders who are working to create a better reality through innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. We provide hands-on guidance and intensive support to startups from the idea stage to product-market fit, helping them navigate the challenges and risks that come with early-stage ventures.

We believe in building a strong community, bringing together successful entrepreneurs, LPs, and advisors who collaborate and engage in peer-to-peer collaboration. Our first fund, Newtopia I, launched in August 2021 with an impressive $50 million investment. With this fund, we plan to invest in 100 amazing Latin American startups.

Our initial investments typically range between $100,000 and $250,000, in exchange for 5% to 7% equity in the company. We are also unique in our ability to continue supporting the top-performing startups in our portfolio. We make follow-on investments in the seed round and potentially in the series A round, with the capacity to invest up to $500,000 in the seed round and up to $1 million to $1.

5 million in the series A round. Our investment thesis focuses on startups that are solving immense problems both in Latin America and globally. We are vertical-agnostic, meaning we invest in a wide range of industries, with a strong focus on fintech, B2B SaaS, Web3, and future commerce.

We also look for startups targeting large markets such as Mexico, Brazil, and the United States. When evaluating startups, we consider the experience and capabilities of the founding team. We prefer working with first-time or second-time entrepreneurs and look for evidence of their ability to execute.

Technical expertise is crucial, as technology plays a central role in scaling startups to reach a large customer base. Furthermore, we assess the equity distribution among founders, favoring a balanced distribution and implementing a vesting schedule. We also look for startups with the potential to become Fund Makers, capable of returning at least 1X the fund size.

Despite the risks associated with venture capital, we believe in the potential for high returns in this industry.
